Issue posted on Microsoft Social Technet forum as well.Ī Windows insider and MVP confirmed the issue on his Virtual Machines that all Windows 7, 8, 8.1 systems updated to definition version 1.289.1521.0 on March 19, 2019, running full scan are affected while other machines haven’t updated to latest definitions are performing the scan without any issues. Another one posted about the same issue on Reddit. The issue has been reported on Microsoft support forum that MSE is crashing forever, the reported user said uninstalling and reinstalling MSE hasn’t fixed the issue.Īnother affected users in the same forum posts Microsoft Security Essentials turns itself off for few a minutes and inform definitions are out of date, the user confirms definitions on his system were up to date and App can’t scan PC and displays 0x800106ba error.
